“WITH LOVE”
Photograph on Metal
”With Love” is a gallery installation that consists of eight 8”x"8” hanging metal panels with an inch foam core backing. This creates a subtle drop shadow behind each piece. It is mounted on a 10’ mobile wall in the Lillian Fendig Gallery.
Lori’s Artist Statement:
My mother’s love takes many forms. One of the most comforting forms is through food. She cooks delicious meals and bakes wonderful desserts. It has always been a part of our family gatherings and feels like a warm hug. This photo series demonstrates the progression and process of mom baking a blueberry pie for dad and I. I cherish every moment of time I have with my mom and the afternoon of this photo shoot was no different. Love was poured into every step of this pie including the final touch of ice cream and coffee. I will always cherish the experience of watching mom bake her love.

Brienne Hooker – Juror’s Statement on the “Celebrating Women “ and Photography Show 2020
It was a pleasure diving back into the world of photography after taking a 4-year break. I enjoy seeing the world through the lenses of others and hearing the words they are communicating through their images. The sign of a great photograph is in the power of what it speaks to the viewer. What I learned from this show and from the artists who shared is that there are great women raising great women in our community. There are great women leaving a legacy of strength, love, creativity adventure, grit and beauty. I love seeing young women explore their place in this world and changing how they see who they are and changing how they are seen by others. I love the challenge of this celebration of women.
Women are the foundation of life.
